Our Mom, Doris O’Neill (Dunn), passed away peacefully at the age of 91. She was born in Bathurst, NB and that is where she lived, laughed and loved her whole life. She was predeceased by our father, Jack and 3 of her siblings, Theresa Dunn, Patricia Dunn and Marie Peachey (Dunn). Her remaining sister Edith “Didi” Torrie (Dunn) and brother John Dunn will miss her dearly. She leaves behind, with broken hearts but fabulous memories and enduring love, her 3 children, Gary O’Neill (Suzanne) of Bathurst, Dawn O’Neill of Halifax and Brian O’Neill (Ruth Ann) of Summerside along with her favorite people…her 6 precious grandchildren. Tyler, Tim, Ryan, Connor, Matthew and Laura will miss you Nana.
A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Mom entered the workforce at the Courthouse in Bathurst. She met Dad …Jack, then Professor O’Neill of St. Thomas Collage in Chatham, NB in 1954. Marriage then motherhood followed. It wasn’t until the mid1970’s that Mom re-entered the workforce while still making sure the 3 of us and as many kids as legally possible, jammed into her car for a ride home from school or driven to the rink for hockey or figure skating.
Mom often complained that she was not a good cook, but most of us think differently. She could bake…..Blueberry muffins, peanut butter cookies, butterscotch pie and oh ….. fudge.. yum!
For whatever reason Mom did not like the color red, so when Dad left Academic life so he could better provide for his family, he got a red car…..had to because Red Rose tea put food and those baked goods on our table!
Mom, we miss you already. We are so very grateful we had you as our Mom for as long as this, shaping us, guiding us, laughing with us, crying with us but most importantly loving us to bits. We felt that each and every day.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 18th, 2022 at 2 p.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral.
