Bathurst – Mrs. Mary Anne “Marion” Kenny, wife of the late Harold Kenny, of Bathurst, spending the last year in Miramichi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the Miramichi Hospital, at the age of 89.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Mary Rose (Christie) Comeau.

She is survived by her three stepchildren, James "Jim" Kenny (Linda) of Bathurst, Colleen White (late Harvelle) and Kathryn Hicks (Eric) both of Fredericton. Loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Heather, Faye, Amy, Scott, and Peter, and eight great-grandchildren.

Also survived by one sister, Geraldine Arseneault (late Larry) of Bathurst and several niece and nephews.

Besides her husband, she is pre-deceased by her sisters and brothers, Doris Doucet (Jerry), Gerald (Joy), Margaret Hachey (Hector), Leonard (Jessie), Denis (Helen), Elizabeth “Bessie” Boudreau (Gerald), and Mildred Arseneau (Cleo).

Marion worked as a hairdresser most of her life, including at Elhatton Funeral Home for many years. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Council Catholic Women’s League having served as Past Council President and Past Diocesan President. She was also a Girl Guide leader and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday November 2, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com).
