It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Rebecca Lemieux-Christie announce her passing, which occurred in the comfort of her own home alongside her husband Shawn Christie on Wednesday, November 9th 2022. Rebecca was 26 years young. Shawn provided outstanding care for Rebecca at their home during her illness, and their love for one another was evident.

She graduated from College in Moncton and became a group underwriter for Medavie Blue Cross shortly thereafter. She was very involved in her community and volunteered at the Veteran’s Unit as well as with her church. She was uplifting, had a bubbly personality and was so kind and selfless. Throughout her entire journey battling brain cancer, Rebecca never complained. She remained strong and brave, and no matter the circumstance, she always wore a smile. Rebecca’s faith in God, and positivity was of an inspiration to so many.

Rebecca is survived by her parents: Josée and Rick McDonald of Saint John and Joanie and Sonia Lemieux of Bathurst.

Her siblings: Sara-Danielle (Kaleb Dawson) of Miramichi, Abigail and Cole McDonald both of Saint John.

One step-niece, Kality Dawson. Two nephews: Anthony Boucher and Zachary Duguay.

Her grandparents: Mémére Jacqueline Lemieux, Roger and Suzanne Arseneau all of Bathurst.

Her beloved pets: Leo, Luna, Penny, Copper and Finch, in addition to her aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday November 13th, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, November 14th from the Christian Fellowship Church, King Ave.

Donations in memory of Rebecca may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
