On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, following a courageously fought battle with cancer, Mary "Coleen" Riordon, passed quietly into her heavenly family at the age of 66 years.
Coleen was the youngest of eight children born to the late Raymond Riordon and the late Eileen Riordon of Pokeshaw, NB.
From the beginning Coleen was an independent, kind-hearted and free-spirited soul, fiercely proud of her children and grandchildren. The arrival of Coleen's 3 grandsons brought light to her life. After spending many years living in Dartmouth, NS, she returned to northern NB to be close to her family. She was a doting grandmother, cherishing her time with her grandsons. She loved watching them grow into fine young men, chatting with them about their daily adventures, and carting them around wherever they wanted to go.
Coleen chased her dreams through travel and danced her way through every classic rock song. Coleen was most happy surrounded by her family and friends, listening to music, telling stories about her years driving tour buses and bartending, as well as watching hockey. Her quick wit and razor-sharp tongue was a source of constant amusement to those who knew her best. Although she returned to Bathurst, her "Halifax Family" was always near to her heart.
Coleen will be deeply missed by her daughter, Erin Archer-Shee (Morgan) of Bathurst, her son Morgan Coombs (Cindy) of Beresford and her grandsons: Cayden, Avery and Ashton.
She is also survived by her brother Dan (Ellen) of Ontario, and her sisters Elaine (Preston) of New Bandon, and Alma (Marc) of Beresford, several nieces and nephews, many wonderful friends and her best little buddy Bruzer.
Coleen was predeceased by her parents, Ray and Eileen, her son Brandon Coombs and brothers: Ray (Sandra), Terry, David (Viola) and Frank (Diane).
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 at 4 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Donations can be made in her name to Bathurst SPCA, or a charity of choice but NOT to the Liberal Party of Canada. (She told us to add that.)
