It is with heavy hearts, we the family, of Murray Glendon Sealy, of Gloucester Junction, NB, announce his passing, which occurred on Monday July 10th, 2023, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, surrounded by his family, at the age of 76.
Born in Canobie, NB, he was the son of the late Helen (Knowles) and Eldon Sealy.
Murray is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol (Good) and his two daughters, Sarah Sealy (Craig McMaster) of Big River, and Marsha Morrison (Derek) of Fredericton and also Murray’s pride and joy, Isaac and Lance, his two grandsons.
Murray has now reunited with his son Todd (1993).
Murray is survived and will be greatly missed by his siblings: Dorothy Chiasson (late Lloyd) of Montague, PEI, Clifford Sealy (late Diane) of Salmon Beach, Walter Sealy (Margaret) of Janeville, Eunice Daley (late Alfred) of Canobie, Earl Sealy (Shirley), Ester Good (late Glendon), Elva Anderson (late Robert), Ruth Duguay (Ralph), Phyllis Collins (Junior), Grace Landry (Claude) all of Bathurst, Violet Anderson (Darryl) of Lake Egmont, NS, John Sealy (Margaret) of Miramichi, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, many good friends, and special neighbours.
In addition to his parents and son Todd, Murray was predeceased by sisters: Velma (late Doug Silver), Gladys (late Tom Peacock) and brothers: John (in infancy) and Lloyd.
In life Murray was retired from the former Brunswick Mines as a member of the company’s Quarter Century Club. He was a very active member of St. George’s Anglican Church and a past volunteer of the Saint-Anne Regional Fire Department. Murray enjoyed farming, gardening, fly fishing, and camping. His hugs will be missed by all.
The family appreciate the compassionate care received from the hospital staff during his final days.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday July 16th, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral service will be held on Monday July 17th,2023, at 11 a.m. from Saint George’s Anglican Church, 432 King Avenue, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Murray can be made to St. George’s Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
