It is with heavy hearts that we the family would like to announce the passing of Melvin Boone, of Miramichi Road, husband of the late Viola Boone, which occurred on Friday July 21 2023 at his residence with family by his side at the age of 83.

Melvin was born and raised in Newfoundland. Where he met the love of his life, Viola (d.2013) at the young age of 16. They spent the best part of 50 years together having two children of their own Stephen Boone of Dunlop and Tracy (John) Palocz of Bathurst. He had the pleasure of seeing 7 grandchildren grow and bringing 6 great grandchildren into his life.

He is also survived by his brother: Edward Boone and sisters: Bernetta (Wilson) Bennett and Betty (Bob) Tucker all of Newfoundland. Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Marie and Florence.

Melvin was always full of life, going camping with family and friends, hunting, and fishing. He loved teasing and making everyone around him smile.

We would like to give a huge thank you, to all the nurses and staff in the dialysis unit at the Bathurst hospital. He was always full of pride when talking about the amazing team we have here. We would also like to say thank you to those that called just to chat. You each meant so much to him.

As per Melvin’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A burial will take place at a later date. If anyone is interested in attending, they may reach out to the family.
