Bathurst – Donald “Donnie” Ronalds of Bridge St, Bathurst, passed away at his residence on Wednesday August 2nd, 2023, at the age of 62.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Maxwell and Velma (Jago) Ronalds.
He is survived by sons: Corey (Ashley Chiasson) and Jake (Emma) both of Bathurst.
Four grandchildren: Riley, Reid, Ruby and Kate.
The mother of his children, Linda Cormier.
Two sisters: Gayle Ferron (Yvon) of Bathurst and Carol Davidson (Eric) of Lakeburn, NB.
As well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brothers Kenneth and Douglas.
Donnie was a man of surf-and-turf. For both his preference of meals, and his love of the woods and water. Donnie grew up lobster fishing and always enjoyed some quality time on any boat fishing with his sons. His fondness of hunting and being in the woods was well known. We all know a hunting story from Donnie. He could also be found spending many hours in his garage. Donnie took pride in teaching the boys all of his mechanical and welding knowledge. He helped flourish their passion for anything with an engine, which helped guide them into their careers. The man also had a knack for cooking. He found pure joy in entertaining others for a meal with, you guessed it, either steak and/or seafood. His table was usually filled with friends and family. Where many card games were played, "wobbly pops" were drank, stories were told, and bellies were full. That is what Donnie lived for.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday evening, August 9th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home(www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 10th, 2023, at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel.
