It is with great sadness the family of Clinton Jagoe, 81, of Clifton, announces his passing, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a struggle with many health issues on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Richard and Beatrice (Chamberlain) Jagoe.
Clinton was a commercial fisherman for 62 years; he also was a fish buyer. In his younger years he played hockey with the Bathurst Papermakers. He held season tickets with the Acadie Bathurst Titan and was a devoted fan. Cliton enjoyed his coffee at McDonald’s with the regulars. He also enjoyed watching ball games and reading in his spare time.
He is survived by his three daughters: Ruth Anne (Herman Cowan) of Janeville, NB Janet Leigh (Darrin Fredericks) of Hartin Settlement, NB and Sharon Dawn (Clement David) of Petit-Rocher, NB.
He is also survived by several cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother, John.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Extra Mural Program, the staff of Jean-Coutu as well as the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Dr. Sophie Camiré and Dr. Catherine Maltais for the excellent care given to Clinton.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 at the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com) from where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
Donations in memory of Clinton may be made to the New Bandon/Salmon Beach Fire Department or to the Bathurst SPCA.
