It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Howard Lavigne, husband of Jeannette (Hachey-Theriault) Lavigne which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital surrounded by family on Monday, October 16th, 2023, at the age of 82.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Frank T. and Violet (Luce) Lavigne.

Besides his wife of 57 Years, he leaves behind one son, Michael (Anne) of Bathurst. He also leaves behind his grandson, Brandon (Palessa) whom he adored as well as his precious great-granddaughter Lena both of Bathurst.

He is also survived by his brothers: Clifford (Betty) of Moncton, Harvey (Patsy), Thomas (Esther Good), Richard (Joan) and his sisters: Marjorie d'Entremont, Prescilla Frenette (Edgar) all of Bathurst and Rose Marie Douglas (Bill) of Ontario.

He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and his special niece, Charlene d'Entremont.

He was predeceased by his sister Audrey and his brother Louis.

Howard worked at the former Coca Cola Bottling Works until he retired after 36 years. In his younger years he was a great baseball and soft ball player. He remained a true fan of the Toronto Blue Jays watching every game.

Howard always gave so generously of his time and love. He will be dearly missed.

Howard's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for him so completely: Doctors, Intensive care Nurses, second west staff who he loved.

In memory of Howard, the family requested donations to be made to our local food bank or charity of the donor's choice.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Elhatton's Funeral Home on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 7-9. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St.
