  •  Date of Death: December 20, 2023
  •  Location: Bathurst

It is with great sadness the family of Adam Kennedy, 44, of Red Deer, AB and formerly of Bathurst announces his sudden passing which occurred on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Brucejack Mine, BC.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of Joseph Kennedy of Big River and Michelle Cunningham of Belledune.

Adam faced many challenges in life and always approached them with a plan and with determination. He had a plan when he started working at the mine. New to mining, he wanted to learn and strive at what he did which helped his successes. Adam had a heart of gold; always willing to lend a hand or give you whatever it is you might need. He was a son, brother, best friend, uncle and co-worker. Each role playing an important part of who Adam was. He always gave people the benefit of the doubt and could see the best in each and everyone he met.

Adam, you will be greatly missed by everyone whose life you impacted. We are all so grateful to have been a part of your story.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Terri Kennedy of Bathurst and Colleen Kennedy of Fredericton.

His honorary brother and best friend, Mark Gardiner.

Adam’s significant other, Buffy Joss of Red Deer, AB.

Three nephews, Colby MacIntyre of Victoria, BC, Connor Legacy of Bathurst and Spencer Clarkson of Fredericton. One niece, Hayley Legacy of Bathurst.

Many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in the spring.

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
