It is with great sadness, we the family, announce the passing of Vance Scott of North Tetagouche, NB which occurred at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, September 13th, 2024, at the age of 54.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of Brian H Scott (Randi Allen) of Elgin, Ontario and Marnie Sargent of Janeville, NB.

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Darlene, his two children whom he loved dearly, Kiki and Riley.

Two brothers, Clark Scott (Darlene) of Bathurst and Alan Scott of Edmonton, AB. Two stepsisters, Ashly Raas (Michael) and Kim Bonin (Andre) both of Ottawa, Ontario.

His special mother and father-in-law, Ernie and Liz Leger of Bathurst. Sister and brother in-laws: Susan Hussey (Jeff) of Montreal, Linda Aubie (David) of Oromocto, N.B, Lynn Watson (Ron) and Roger Leger (Carole) of Bathurst.

Aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vance was an exceptional athlete in both hockey and softball, as well as a valued coach to many minor hockey league teams and Bathurst minor baseball.

Vance especially enjoyed spending time in nature at his camp with family and friends. He could always be found down by the lake with a fishing rod in hand hoping to catch “the big one” or out exploring in his side by side.

Vance worked for the City of Bathurst for 20 years, during which time he was a well-respected Union President for 10 years.

From there Vance went on to work in the mining sector for 11 years where he worked until his passing.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wade for his exceptional care and compassion over the past few months. Also, a special thank you to Vance's extramural nurse, Kayla, an angel on earth. We will never forget your caring and compassionate way with Vance and family. Thank you also to Brian Fitzpatrick and staff at Jean Coutu.

There will be no visitation, funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20th at 2p.m from First United Church, Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Vance can be made to the Bathurst Minor Hockey Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
