It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Leonard Aubie which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the age of 79.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Eldon Aubie and late Theresa Lavigne.
He leaves behind his close friend, Thérèse Calderone and his daughter Lisa Forbes (Eugene) of Waterville N.S. whom he loved dearly.
Six brothers: Cletus (Evangeline), Bernie (Shirley), Gerald, Charles (Mary-Jane), Gerry (Vicky), Paul Lanteigne (Lison).
Four sisters: Beverly Timmons, Vivian Draz (Dave), Anita Jessup (Shawn) and Claudette Chamberlain (Gerard).
A sister-in-law Colette Aubie.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Gordon, brothers-in-law Raymond Timmins, Carl Nickum and Gary Knight.
His sense of humor and his presence will be greatly missed. He worked in construction and at Brunswick Mill.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, especially the palliative care unit for all their care and compassion.
There will be no viewing, a funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, September 30th at 2p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Leonard may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com).
