Janeville - It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Ann Richard, 72, which occurred Thursday April 17, 2025, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst. She joins her husband, Edward Richard.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late James Smith and the late Cecile (Roy) Smith.

She was a proud mother of one son: Eric of Alberta and two daughters: Christine (Brian) of Riverview and Amanda (Claude) of Bathurst.

Two grandchildren: Nick and Melissa and two great-grandchildren: Jeremiah and Joseph.

She is also survived by two brothers: John (Marg) of Alberta and Stephen (Kim) of Bathurst.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Joanne.

Betty was an employee of Walmart for the last 16 years, where she met a lot of friends.  She also enjoyed line dancing, spending time with family, playing cards and seeing friends at Tim’s. 

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Thursday April 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com).

Donations in memory of Betty Ann may be made to the Moncton Neuro ICU or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
