Bathurst - Mrs. Valida Pitre, of Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (May 2, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the proud age of 95 ½ years old.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Doucet) LaCroix.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph J. Pitre and her companion, late Roger Godin.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Hector Pitre (Wanda Hannan) of Bathurst

One daughter:

Lorinda DeGrace (Alvin) of Beresford

4 grandchildren; Sonia Taylor, Alain Pitre, Joleen DeGrace, Allison DeGrace, 1 great-grandson; Johnathan Taylor, several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (May 5, 2010) at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Valida may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
