Bathurst - Robert N. Smith, 81, of O'Neil Ave., Bathurst, passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday (July 17, 2010).

Born in London, ON, he was the son of the late Chester and Bertha (Hobbs) Smith.

He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London, ON with a BSC in Geology and worked in various mines before coming to Brunswick Mines in 1963, retiring in 1986 as Chief Geologist.  Member of the Nepisiquit Salmon Association.

Brad (Debbie) both of Bathurst

One sister:

Mary Young (George) of Lucan, ON

2 grandchildren; Samantha, Christopher, several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (July 24, 2010) at 2 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst, with Rev. Blair Lewis officiating.  Donation in memory of Robert may be made to a charity of the donors choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
