Bathurst - Lionel "Wabo" Pitre, 66, of Dumeresq St., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (August 1, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
 
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Isreal and Céline (Legacé) Pitre.
 
He was a former employee of many years for Doucet's Landscaping.
 
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and is survived by nieces and nephews; Kenneth, Gerald, Donald, Jean Guy, Normand, Nicole, Greg, Line, Louise, Roger and Stephen.
One sister-in-law;
Regina Pitre.
He was pre-deceased by a brother; Gerald, sisters; Albina, Macrina and Evelyne.
 
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (August 4, 2011) at 2 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel with Father Greg Culligan officiating.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
