Mrs. Charlotte MacKenzie 76, wife of the late Daniel R. MacKenzie, of Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst, passed away at Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on Sunday August 7, 2011.

Born in North Sydney, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Pius Hickey and Emma Hawley.

She is survived by six sons, Daniel (Judy) of Antigonish, NS, John of Bathurst, Ronald of Ontario, Darryl (Jeanne) of Bathurst, Donald of Bathurst, Joseph (Lisa) of Ontario;  five daughters, Mary Smith (Ken) of British Columbia, Theresa Chiasson (James) of Bathurst, Charlotte Durley (Fred) of Nova Scotia, Sharon Landry (Marcel) of Ontario, Geraldine Noël (Gary) of Bathurst; seven sisters, Sis (Bob) Faulkner, Pearl Alain, Ann Hawkins, Betty (Carl) Roberts, Viola (Melvin) Crewe, Joan (Gord) Ferneyhough, Gladys (Lee) Fraser; four brothers, Buck (Alice) Hickey, Cecil (Catherine) Hickey, Ike (Bev) Hickey, Gordie (Brenda) Hickey.

17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 1 son, Cornelius "Connie", 3 brothers, Pius Jr., Joseph and Bobby.

Visitation will be held at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst on Wednesday August 10, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning, August 11, 2011 at 11 am from Sacred Heart Cathedral.  In memory of Charlotte a donation may be made to a favorite choice.
