Growing up on the Bay of Chaleur, James spent much of his life on the water and began fishing at a young age with his father. James continued fishing lobster until his 80th year. During the fall and winter months James loved to work in the woods. During the summer, he tended a garden and the grounds around his property in Janeville located at Scott’s Brook.  "Jim" was well known as a hard working and fun loving man who enjoyed people from all walks of life.  He could strike up a conversation with anyone and shared what he had with his family, friends and acquaintances.  His relatives of all ages recount special moments with James around his property where he loved to spend time his entire life.
