Bathurst – Mrs. Hazel Jennings, 81, wife of the late Douglas Jennings, of Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst, passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital. 

Raised in Salmon Beach, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Evangeline (Hodnett) Rodgers.  Hazel and Douglas were married June 11th 1952.  Together they raised a family while operating Jennings Poultry Farm.  As a couple, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived and will be missed by her four children: Carol Jennings of Abbotsford, B.C., David (Nancy) of Bathurst, Neva Smyth (Bruce) of Bathurst and Frederick of Dartmouth, N.S.

Four grandchildren: Ola, Courtney, Erica, Dustin; two great-grandchildren: Mora, Avery and her kitten Judy (a.k.a. Momma’s Girl).

She will also be missed by four sisters: Mildred Sealy (Harold) of Richmond, B.C., Henrietta Nickel of Abbotsford, B.C., Helen Legacy (Theo) of Dalhousie. and Edith Daley (Baydon) of Janeville, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Freeman and three sisters: Muriel, Evangeline and Harmony. 

There will be no visiting at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be from St. Georges Anglican Church, Monday June 22, 2015 at 11 a.m.

Donations in memory of Hazel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society; Heart and Stroke Association; the SPCA or a favorite charity.
