1935 - 2016
Bathurst - Delphis Bernard, formerly of Middle River, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the age of 80, at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst.
Born in South Tetagouche he was the son of the late Herbert Bernard and Briget Legacy.
He served 9 years in the armed forces and later worked at Brunswick Mines for 33 years and 4 years as Corps Commissionaire at the ChaleurRegionalHospital before his retirement.
Besides his wife, Delphine (Aubut) he is survived by four sons: André, Jean Marc, Robert (Debbie) and Fernand.
One daughter, Gabrielle Bernard; three grandchildren.
Four brothers: Joseph "Joe" Eldon (Elaine) of Ottawa, William "Bill" (Beatrice) of Sussex, John (late Alfreda) of Bathurst, Thomas (Donna) of South Tetagouche.
Two sisters: Corinne Valcourt (late Clement) of South Tetagouche, Julianne Pitre (late Godfrey) of Brockville, Ontario.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Albert "Bobby", Paul, Joseph and a sister, Theresa.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11 am from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Delphis may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
