1946- 2016

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Michael "Mickey" Edward Young of Francine St., Beresford, which occurred Saturday February 27, 2016 at the age of 69 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Doran and Rita (Roy) Young.

Mickey leaves his loving wife of 48 years, Florence (Thériault) Young, daughter Jennifer Morrison (Rick) of Fredericton, son James Young (Kim Haché) of Bathurst, sister Connie Young of Bathurst, brother Terry Young (Janice) of Bathurst, grandsons Jack and Scott of Fredericton, nephew Kris (Andrea) Young of Calgary and the extended Thériault family.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his niece Kelly in 1991.

Retired at the time of his passing, Mickey spent his career as a surveyor in the mining industry, originally with J.S. Redpath Limited and then with Noranda/Xstrata.

The strong silent type, Mickey loved his grandsons, a good steak, movies and Tom Clancy novels (not always in that order).

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst followed by a reception in the church basement.

Donations in Mickey’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
