1940 - 2016

Bathurst - Gordon E. Lavigne of St. Mary's Ave., Bathurst, passed away at the age of 75, on Monday March 14, 2016, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Edwin and Olivine (Chiasson) Lavigne.

Gordon was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed Baseball, Curling, bird watching and was passionate about country music and enjoyed cooking.  He worked in the grocery industry.

He is survived by his friend and companion, Gloria (Crilley) Brillant.

Two children: Michael Lavigne of Bathurst and Nicole Lavigne (Curtis) of B.C.

Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Four brothers: Victor Lavigne, Theodore Lavigne (Jeannie) both of Bathurst, Babe Lavigne (Cecile) of Big River and Rheal Lavigne (Denise) of Beresford.  

Two sisters: Florence LeCouter (late Donat) of Bathurst and Jeanne Leet (late Freeman) of Big River.  Several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon March 17, 2016 at 4 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
