Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Sargent of Bathurst, NB who passed away at the age of 75 at the George Dumas Hospital in Moncton on Sunday, August 14th, 2016, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Frederic John Best and the late Rita Arseneau Best.
Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Gary and her Children, Michael (Susan) of Saint John, NB., David (Holly) of Harvey, NB. Patricia will also be fondly remembered by her 4 grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Caleb, and Jessica, her brother Fred (Carol) two Uncles, Leonard (Jean) Lawrence (Geraldine) and several Cousins.
Patricia was born in Toronto, raised in Sherbrooke, Que., and moved to Bathurst in 1980. Her passion for figure skating in both Amateur and Professional career covered a span of over 30 years as a member of the Figure Skating clubs in Granby, Que., Cowansville, Que., Belledune and Bathurst, NB. She was also a member of both the Coaching Association of Canada and Canadian Figure Skating Association. She was also involved with Canadian Special Olympics and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
A private celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at the Holy Family Cemetery on August the 18th with a gathering of family and friends.
Memorial donations in memory of Patricia can be made to the Canadian Shriner's Hospital for sick Children www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton`s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
