Beresford, NB - J. Alvin DeGrace, 73, of Kent Lodge Road, Beresford, passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2017, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, after a brief and courageous battle with illness.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Amedée and Emilia (Boudreau) DeGrace.
He was retired from Brunswick Mines and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club.
Besides his wife, Lorinda (Pitre) DeGrace, he is survived by two daughters: Joleen DeGrace (Allen Leet) of Big River and Allison DeGrace (Kevin Ferron) of Allardville.
One brother, Vernon DeGrace (DesNeiges) of Riverview. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by four brothers, Adrien, Raymond, Roméo and Léo.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday January 19, 2017 at 4 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst.
Donations in memory of J. Alvin may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
