Bathurst – Omer Lavigne, of South Bathurst, passed away on Friday September 8, 2017, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 66.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William T. and Elizabeth (Duclos) Lavigne.
He worked for Doucet’s Landscaping as a Heavy Equipment operator for many years and later with several other local businesses.
He was pre-deceased by his spouse, Emma Savage in June of this year.
He is survived by two children:
Amy Jo Hachey (Stephane) of South Tetagouche and
Gena Franco Lavigne of Moncton.
Four grandchildren: Jacob, Emmett, Isaiah and Liam.
Two brothers:
Maynard (Jessie) and
David (Pam Elliot) both of Bathurst and one sister, Patrina Hofmann (Werner) of Montreal, Que. Many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by seven brothers: Cletus, Edgar, Elmer, Alvin, Norman, Tommy (in infancy), Thomas "Tommy" and four sisters, Agnita, Robina, Marjorie and Gloria.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at 4 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in memory of Omer may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
