It is with heavy hearts that the family of James Bryan Teed, of Bathurst, announce his passing which occurred Friday October 19, 2018.

Bryan’s passion in life was his family, fishing, hunting, and canoeing the Nepisiguit River.  His greatest joy was time spent at "Grant's Lake Camp" where his family and friends were regaled with the best feasts and adventures.    He was the Trout Champion of the Lake where only a few would be privy to his secret fishing spot.

Born in Cambellton NB he was the only son of the Late James Clinton Teed and Elva (Daley)Ellis.

Besides his wife, Carmel Anne (Cormier) Teed he is survived by their two children – Laura (Denis) Jean and Robert Teed both of Bathurst.

He was known as "Pampy" to his four grandchildren James (Hannah) Teed, Kayla Teed, Matthew Jean and Kristina Jean.

Bryan was involved in the insurance adjusting business most of his life. Prior to retiring he worked as Assistant Consumer Advocate for Insurance.

Bryan spent his early childhood in Rouyn-Noranda where he was in minor hockey, cub scouts and boy scouts.  After his father's death he and his mom moved back to his mother's childhood home in New Bandon.  He attended Bathurst High School until 1966.

He joined the Royal Canadian Legion, Herman J Good Branch #18 in 1972.  In 1990, he was named their first non-veteran president.  He was a very active member of this branch where he served on various committees.  He created friendships, played darts, shuffle board, and shared his cooking expertise for numerous events.

Bryan was Vice President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce before the club dissolved.

He was an instructor and 2nd Lieutenant with the 640 Air Cadet squadron.  Bryan was also involved with the local Fish & Game Rifle & Pistol Club and served several years as their President.  He was President of the "Bathurst Aquanuts", a local scuba diving club, who set up training for new divers, etc.  He traveled throughout the Maritimes on diving outings as well as search & recovery of lost nets and fishermen's equipment – they named their company "Have Tank will Travel."

Bryan played bass guitar most of his life and was member of several bands throughout his music career.  The most well known was "Country Raid" which won the provincial Best Amateur Country Band Award.

Bryan, your culinary skills (being a guest at your table would rival the best gourmet restaurant), your sense of humor, your colorful stories, and your unique character will be missed by all who knew you.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, October 25th, 2:00 p. m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Bryan may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Crohns and Colitis Canada, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through www.elhatton.com.
