It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Roy Melvin Scott, announce his passing on Friday February 16, 2019 at his home in Janeville, NB, at the age of 71.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Aulay and Florence (Good) Scott.
He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Ann (Doncaster) Scott, of almost 50 years.
His son, Michael of Janeville and daughter, Shirley McIntyre (Brian) of Salmon Beach.
Two grandchildren: Brayden and Danica.
One brother, Francis (Peggy) of Salmon Beach.
Brother-in-law, Irvin Wiseman of New Bandon.
Several nieces, nephews and cousins
He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Emily Wiseman, Fern Wiseman, brothers, Allison, Elmer and a half-brother, Arnold Good.
He worked for Eddy Wholesale for 28 years and Kent for 11 years. He enjoyed softball, bowling, playing music, woodworking, hunting & fishing. Roy was a member of the Central United Church where he contributed to the church choir for many years and gave leadership to the Scouting movement.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 23, 2019 at 2 p.m. from Central United Church, Clifton. Due to family allergies to flowers, donations in memory of Roy may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, the Perpetual Care Fund of the Stonehaven Cemetery or a charity of the donors choice.
