North Tetagouche - Brennan Power, formerly of North Tetagouche, passed away on Friday April 19, 2019, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 81, with his family by his side.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Josephine (Brennan) Power.
Brennan was married to the mother of his six children, the late Vivian (Logan) Power and is survived by four sons: Terrence of Ontario, Nicholas and Daniel both of Bathurst and Leonard of Calgary, AB.
Two daughters: Kimberly Barker and Marie Power both of Ontario.
One brother, Allie Power (Jeannette) of North Tetagouche.
Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by three sisters: Betty, Bernice and Claire.
During his working years, Brennan worked for the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill as a paper maker.
In 1971 Brennan was involved in a serious motor cycle accident which changed his life. Later, with time, he was able to regain the ability to drive his pickup truck and enjoyed his ATV. He loved to hunt, trap and fish, which often took him to his favorite place, "the ledge" on the Tetagouche river. An avid bowler, he proudly displayed his many trophies in a special trophy case. As was customary in the family, Brennan was always up for a few rounds of auction 45's with family and friends. In quieter time, we would see him at the dining room table playing cribbage.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff for the excellent care given to Brennan at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Service of Christian burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday April 25, 2019 from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Donations in memory of Brennan may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
