It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of Vincent Roger Russell which occurred on Wednesday September 1st, 2021 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital. He was 62 years old.
Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Grant-Munroe) Russell. Vince was predeceased by a sister Gail.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Hadley-Tabor, his children; Cassandra Tabor of Kuujjuaq, Nunavik and Nathan Russell of Salmon Beach, NB. One grandchild, Seth Wood.
Five sisters: Francis (late Donald) King, Catherine (late Charles) Cormier, Shirley (James) Roy all of Salmon Beach, Bonnie (Edward) Carey of Rough Waters and Sandra (Barbara Lafolley) Russell of Bathurst.
Two brothers: Peter (Faye) Russell of Bathurst and Robert (Annie) Russell of Salmon Beach.
Several nieces, nephews as well as many close friends he has known since childhood; everyone of them had a very special place in his heart.
Vincent was a kind and generous person and had a great sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, spending time in the garden and hunting, he especially loved being at the beach where he could entertain and cook for his friends. Spending Saturday nights at the Salmon Swing “ The Shack“ was a favorite but what always remained closest to his heart was spending time on the water. Vincent will be sadly missed in everyday life by so many who cherished his company.
A private funeral service will be held from St. Lukes Presbyterian Church, 395 Murray Ave. on Thursday, September 16 at 2p.m. Covid restrictions will be in place and masks are mandatory.
Donations in memory of Vincent may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
