Bathurst – John Rennie of Bathurst, passed away Sunday, June 5th, 2022 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 73.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Celine (Richards) Rennie, who passed away on May 23rd of this year and the late Jack Rennie.

He leaves behind one sister, Diane Rennie of Nepisiguit Falls, NB.

In his younger years, he worked for Percy Cormier in East Bathurst and at John Leblanc’s garage as a teen. He later worked as a miner in Hay River and as a truck driver as well. Upon return to Bathurst, he worked at the former Smurfit Stone mill where he worked until his retirement.

John was a talented figure skater and enjoyed biking. He really enjoyed training German Shepherds.

As per his wishes, a funeral service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Bathurst S.P.C.A, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
