Clifton – Mrs. Eva Murphy, wife of the late Ralph Murphy passed away on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at he age of 89.

Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Ida (Smith) Smith.

She is survived by her children: Dean (Alice) of Utopia, NB, Richard “Rick” (Laura Lee) of Clifton, Marilyn Cooke (Sterling) of Clifton, NB and Heather MacCallum (Brian) of Bathurst.

Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

One brother, Sydney Smith (Wanda Knowles) of Brampton, ON and one sister, Jessie Williston (Floyd) of Saint John as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Eva was predeceased by two children: Carmen and Mary Ellen, one granddaughter, Courtney; three brothers: Norman, John, Carmen and five sisters: Eunice, Helen, Sadie, Alice and Cora.

The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 29th at 11 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Spruce Grove Union Cemetery, Bathurst in the spring.
