It is with heavy hearts we, the family, announce the passing of Michel "Mike" Doucette which happened peacefully at home with his family by his side June 5th 2023 at the age of 64.
Mike was a loving husband, amazing father, and was respected and well known by so many.
Mike, originally from Toronto, lived in Bathurst for the last 24 years, where he worked at Black Jacks Bar and Lous Pub as a bartender.
He was best known to lend an ear or shoulder, give some advice, sing a song or two, and help anyone in need.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Corrinne, his daughter Shannon of Moncton, sisters Jeannine Savoie of Campbelltown, Shirly Sullivan of Lethbridge AB, in laws Colleen (Steve Betts) of Bathurst, Christine (Jim Arsenault) of Gilmour, On, several nieces and nephews, and a lot of friends.
The family would like to thank all the nurses from Bathurst Extra Mural. They showed so much compassion and worked very hard to keep Mike comfortable at home.
There will be no visitation or funeral service for Mike.
A benefit was held on May 28 at Lous Pub where many of Mikes friends, family, and customers gathered and showed their support. To Mike, this was his “Celebration of Life” and we could not thank everyone enough!
