Bathurst - The family would like to announce the passing of John Gray, of Dawson Cres., Bathurst, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the age of 69.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary Anne (Hachey) Gray.

John worked for most of his life as a self-employed contractor. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1935.

He is survived by a son, Michael (Lucie) and a daughter, Colleen Gray (Jackie Morrison) both of Bathurst.

Three grandsons: Raymond, Andrew and Nicholas.

His partner, Dorina Fleck of Bathurst.

Four sisters: Stella Legacy (Fern Roy) and Veronica Chamberlain (Eric) both of Bathurst, Emily Laitinen and Dorothy both of Ottawa, ON.

Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the mother of his children, Gail (Lavigne) Gray, brothers: Jerry, Timmy, Vincent, Billy, Donnie and sisters: Betty, Carol and Patsy.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service will be celebrated on Tuesday August 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Bathurst.
