It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Joseph Albert Thibeault which occurred on Wednesday, August 30th at the age of 77.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Hilda (Boucher) Thibeault. He is survived by one daughter, Marie Thibeault of Fredericton (Serge Gagnon), two sons Albert Thibeault of Bathurst (Joanne Arsenault), and Eric Thibeault of Fredericton and his one true love Angelina Thibeault. Though they had been separated many years, he never stopped loving her and considering her his wife. He had one grandson and two step-granddaughters (Brandon, Madeleine, and Sophie). He also had two brothers and two sisters whom he loved very much, Linda (Thibeault) Legacy, Evangeline Gionet (Victor), Manuel Thibeault, and Cletus Thibeault.

He was predeceased by three other brothers, Martin, Roger, and Reggie.

Albert being from a family of eight children and his ex-wife a family of sixteen, he had many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews who were all important in his life. Albert loved his family and he loved to make them laugh. He was known for his playful teasing and telling of his not-always-so-funny “Dad Jokes”.

Albert was a retired ceramic tile installer. He was very proud to say that he worked over thirty years doing the work he loved the most. He spent most of his career with Eastern Tile and Carpet in Miramichi and Carpet Ranch in Beresford. Albert was very much a perfectionist when it came to his work, and he was sought after by clients throughout the province for his craftsmanship and beautiful finishes. He installed the tile in the old Chaleur Mall, Dominion, and Burger King, and other notable commercial and educational locations in New Brunswick. He loved doing residential work the most, however, as that’s where he got to flex his creative muscles. His best job, and the one he was most proud of, was installing tile flooring in his daughter’s first home.

Albert was also an animal lover, he adored cats and his favourite way to nap, after a long day of work, was with the family cat cuddled up on his belly. Albert was a quiet and reserved man, but also very prideful, he like to look good for his friends and family and enjoyed shopping for a nice shirt and “sports jacket”. He loved sporting a nice suit to go to the many New Year’s Eve dances with his Angelina where they would tear up the dance floor for hours and hours. He even dressed up to go to Bingo. It didn’t matter the location, he loved being told he looked good, and he especially loved being told he looked like Elvis.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

There will be a private visitation at the funeral home for family only and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel.

Donations in memory of Albert may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
