Bathurst – It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the death of Theophile “Jr.” Vienneau, of Duke St., Bathurst, which occurred Friday September 29, 2023, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Theophile Sr. and Priscilla (Power) Vienneau.
Besides his wife, Donna (Doucet) Vienneau, he is survived by a son, Brian Vienneau of Moncton.
Three brothers: Robert Vienneau (Christine) and Michael Vienneau both of Bathurst and John Vienneau of Moncton.
Three sisters: Mary Anne Brideau (Marcel), Gail Vienneau and Brenda Pitre (Rudolphe) all of Bathurst.
His stepmother, Rose-Anna Vienneau of Bathurst.
Half-sister, Marie Louise Vienneau (Stuart Morrison) of Bathurst.
Stepbrother, Guy Downing (Suzanne) of Bathurst.
Stepsisters: Gisèle Bourgoin (Marcel) of Alberta, Carole Poirier (J.P. Boudreau) of Bathurst.
His mother-in-law, Margaret Doucet of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by brothers: Joseph, Daniel, stepbrother, Paul and a special 10-year-old grand niece, Hana “Banana”.
Jr. lost a courageous 7-year battle with cancer. Right to the end, he had hope of a longer life. But his greatest hope was if he lost the battle, he would be with Jesus his saviour.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Jr. loved animals, playing his guitar daily and singing gospel & hymns, tinkering with electronics, mechanics and fixing things. He was a jack of all trades and master of none.
He enjoyed teasing people like his father did as all the Vienneau clan do. He was a fierce protector of his family & was so proud of his son.
We would like to thank the Extra Mural Program. They were quick to provide the help we needed. They were so kind, compassionate, and great a support. A special thank you to long time neighbour, Kim Leeman, who was there for Jr. & me on the last day at home. Her care & support lightened the load immensely.
Jr., husband, father, son-in-law and friend will be greatly & sorrowfully missed.
Romans 10:9 “…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord & believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved”
The family will receive relatives and friends after 10 a.m. Tuesday October 3rd, 2023, at the Evangel Pentecostal Church, Basin St., Bathurst, from where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
