Bathurst - It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Donald Buttimer, husband of Pauline (Young) Buttimer, of Patterson Cres., Bathurst, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Saturday November 30, 2024, at the age of 91.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Allie and Olive (Comeau) Buttimer.
Donald worked at the former Stone Container Paper Mill and was part owner of Young & Buttimer Trucking. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Knights of Columbus Council 1935 and a 4th Degree member of the former Msgr. Wheton Assembly.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters: Shelley Boucher (Denis) of Bathurst and Brenda Scott (Brice) of South Tetagouche.
Four grandchildren: Tonya, Remi, Krista and Dany. Five great-grandchildren: Liam, Tyler, Isabelle, Jordan and Nathan.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother, Wayne.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Donations in memory of Donald may be made to the Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
