Adrien Albert, 80, of Riverbank drive Bathurst, passed away peacefully at Chaleur Regional Hospital of Bathurst, Thursday September 28, 2006.
Born in Caraquet, N.B., he was the son of the late Alexandre J. Albert and Amanda (Paulin) Albert.
He was the owner of Johnson Van & Storage in Bathurst, N.B. and of Journeau Transfer & Storage in Campbellton, N.B. from l971 to l989.
He was a past director of Allied Van Lines. He was a former president of the Charlottetown Kinsmens Club. He is a member of the Bathurst K40 Club and former member of the Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club, Commodore (president) of the old Bathurst Yacht Club, and the Bathurst Board of Trade. Adrien was also a prominent businessman in the city of Bathurst.
His wife Evelyn (Gale) Albert died in 1994.
He is suvived by:
One daughter;
Carol (Luc Roy) Albert of Bathurst and
One son;
Ross (Julie Pithers) Albert of Calgary, Alberta.
Two sisters;
Georgette Duguay (Clarence) of Fredericton and
Gilberte Bell (Ray) of Montreal, Qué.
One brother;
Jean-Raymond (Lévina) Albert of Caraquet.
Three sisters-in-law;
Winnifred Leblanc (John) of Caraquet,
Victorine Albert of Riverview, N.B. and
Muriel Albert of Caraquet.
And many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by:
Five brothers: Gabriel, Julien, Martial, Ernest and Valmond.
Two sisters: Therese and Pauline.
The body will rest at Elhatton Funeral Home, 187 St.George St. Bathurst (www.elhatton.com) after 7:00 p.m. Saturday (September 30, 2006).
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St-Pierre Aux Liens Church in Caraquet, Monday (October 2, 2006) at 4:00 p.m.
Visiting hours: Saturday September 30, 2006 from 7 to 9 and Sunday October 1st, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
