David Roberts, 78, of King Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (December 10, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness. Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Ward) Roberts He worked for Canadian National Railway for over 38 years. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was a member of the First United Church Choir and several other choirs in the area. He was a former president of the South Bathurst Softball League, as well as a coach and umpire. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his wife, Celia (Furlotte) Roberts, he is survived by: Four daughters: Judy Couture (Gerard) of Bathurst Kim Good (Clint) of Big River Paula Roberts of Bathurst Rachel Roberts (Joey Myers) of Moncton Three grandsons; Scott, Ryley and Connor. Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son; Kevin, sisters; Joyce, Marjorie, two half-sisters; Grace, Nellie and a half-brother; Harold. The family will receive relatives and friends after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday (December 13, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St. Burial will be in the Spruce Grove Union Cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
